Here are some basic first date ideas and guidelines to help you choose the most perfect place for your first date:
Noise. Every first date is a getting-to-know-you experience, which means when exchanging conversation, both of you should be able to hear the other. Places with loud music, or even loud crowds, can cause you both to shout and not hear each other and spoil the date.
Make sure the place is well lighted. Going on a first date you want to have some lighting so you can see your date and notice their expressions and gestures. Aside from that, a poorly illuminated place gives your date the impression that you may be up to something sleazy – we won’t elaborate on that further.
Price. You may be able to afford a flashy, swaggering date at an expensive restaurant, but you should be careful not to make your date feel out of place. Don’t make your first date uncomfortable by taking your partner to a place where the people there aren’t “their crowd.”
Finally, don’t go to a too trendy place. You can expect big crowds that may be noisy too, which is anything but intimate.
Being someone who’s had many a first date with many a girl over the past 15 to 20 years, I can definitely suggest cafes, because they provide the ideal balance of quiet, comfort and wallet-friendly prices that could allow you and your date to have all the privacy and intimacy you need without breaking the bank.
